Church Hurt is as real as the air we breathe and as scorching as the sun’s rays.
There are certain expectations that comes unconsciously about how perfect and holy a church should be and in the process, we miss out the most significant part of the purpose it was instituted.
Life becomes burdensome and disappointing when one brethren exudes his or her imperfect traits, threatening us at our place of service.
Church is not only for the strong but also for the weak, confused, retarded, lost, hopeless, wicked souls and more you could think of.
It is not just for the righteous only but for the unrighteous who are yet to see the light or yet to surrender their lives to God. No wonder God says “Come, all ye that labour and I will give you rest.” People from different walks of life and personalities thong into the church as no man’s business just to find comfort, peace and Love.
So church is like mixture of weeds and seeds that God allows to grow in love. So , yes, there is bound to be church hurts in its glory. In the process of some people thriving to be God’s child, toes will be stepped on and emotions will be traumatized.
Some will be stigmatized while others are likely to be crushed with hatred, bitterness and malice. The truth is, you can’t have a perfect church no matter how you run to take refuge.
People will intentionally and unintentionally criticized you and try so hard to kick you off the very place God placed you to fulfill purpose.

No wonder, Paul said present yourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable. You are meant to be a living sacrifice which epitomizes strength, faith and dedication amidst the torrents of storm or the rock bottom of life.
You are to stand no matter how uncomfortable it might be because in your place of service lies God’s undiluted joy, peace and laughter
So don’t leave church when someone or group of people hurt you, and don’t give them that power. No matter what, Christ should be the reason you stay despite the odds.
If you left church, or left your place of service, go back and forgive all you can and also learn to forgive people in advance.
Remember, behind every smile or laughter on a brethren’s face lies years of painful church hurts but I guess this refines you to be better.
