” l Lost My Marriage on the Grounds of Tuberculosis”- Sylvester

A life that involves Tuberculosis can cause a certain heinous feeling to any individual and his loved ones. The affected victim of this disease is quarantine so that others will not be affected and this situation attracts loneliness and stigmatization in an environment he once called home. Tuberculosis has thrown so many off balance while some are left to experience life at the tail end.

In spite of newer modalities for diagnosis and treatment of Tuberculosis, unfortunately, people are still suffering, and worldwide it is among the top 10 killer infectious diseases, second only to HIV.

Consequently, Sylvester Egbe had his own share of the chronic disease in September, 2017. He narrated his life story on the struggle he had to experience while Tuberculosis feasted on his body.

In his words: “Friends, God’s mercy kept me and l will not let go. Indeed life is full of ups and downs. 2017 September I had my downs as the devil attacked my health such that within one month I became a shadow of myself. “

“Hospitals rejected me on grounds that the tuberculosis was +3 and I may not make it. But the God of second chance saw me through. I held unto Revelations 12:11 because I was very convinced that one day i will testify if only i faint not. “

“I lost all I ever had including my marriage. Please join me to return all the glory to God, the one I call OSI OTARA OTARA, He healed me of all. Please permit me to say thank you to you who stood by me during my trying time. The church Living Faith Church Akai-Efa, pastors and members alike. My family, friends and you. To my one and only mother, words cannot say my love for you. All my in-laws both far and near, you remain the best. “

“To the wife of my youth, please we are not enemies but the devil is. We only acted out our ignorance and I take the blame because I should have known that there is difference between wedding and marriage. Thanks for showing me the way out of my comfort zone and for making me think out of the box. You are still the Kedei, the Oyene. God bless you, just that you left when i needed you most. “

“To you reading this now i pray that you will never see shame in Jesus Name amen. JESUS IS LORD.”

Sadly, Sylvester is no more but his testimony of courage, faith, love and friendship will forever be in our hearts.

Rest In Peace , Sylvester
